Background History:

Keirana Tye Hunter was adopted by two predominate human professors who teach in the sciences at the university on Betazed. Keirana was adopted on Stardate 7303.04. She has an adoptive brother named Geoff who is currently finishing his doctorate in physics and chemistry.

Keirana is full Betaziod. She has the natural telepathic abilities as most people of her kind do, with one slight difference. She was born with her telepathic abilities fully attuned, which is rare unlike those that develop their telepathic abilities during their adolescent years. Because of the early development of her telepathic abilities, Keirana lacks the natural ability to block out other people's thoughts and emotions. She has had to go through strict counseling to keep the thoughts and emotions of others down to a minimal or "whisperings" as she call them. She is constantly pushing her mental prowess and abilities to its fullest potential while learning new strengths. Keirana is determined not to let her "whisperings" interfere with what it was she had wanted in life and that also meant satisfying her overbearing and ill-tempered father.

While in high school, Keirana met a Starfleet cadet by the name of Robert Clemens who was on Betazed to learn more about his abilities as a telepath. They started dating and she felt her love grow for Robb as much as his love had grown for her. But their relationship was soon terminated by Keirana's father, who had caught them together in a holosuite program at the university where he taught. Enraged, Professor Hunter had called Robb's uncle to take Cadet Clemens home, while he took his daughter home. Once Professor Hunter and his daughter reached home, he forced his daughter to keep a promise that she would not continue the relationship with the Starfleet cadet. Keirana reluctantly agreed for fear that her father would destroy what Robb had accomplished in his studies at Starfleet. She never got to say good bye to Robb, but her love for him never died.

Keirana graduated from high school in the top 20% of her senior class which was an accomplishment especially since she had to work hard to keep her mind in order.

From high school, Keirana entered college immediately after her graduation. In college, Keirana studied mostly in the in the natural and behavioral sciences. She carried decent grades, but not good enough to satisfy her father who had expected her to do just as well as her brother who was a few years older than she was.

Keirana soon decided to leave the University of Betazed and join up with Starfleet to escape her father's endless criticism. During her last year at Starfleet Academy, Keirana attended a science seminar at UCLA, featuring Dr. Galen and her father Professor Hunter. She attended the seminar for two reasons, one was to hear Dr. Galen talk and the second was to try and make amends with her father. At a brief intermission, Keirana met a man whose name was Steven Knight. He had followed her down from the back of the auditorium to the stage where she was meeting her father. Unknown to her at the time, Steven Knight was a son of a colleague who is teaching at New York's ESU. Her father eased up on his criticisms, when they had started dating and eventually Steven and Keirana were engaged to be married. The marriage, Keirana hoped would help improve her and her father's relationship. As the wedding was about to begin, Keirana changed her mind and decided not to marry her father's colleague's son for three reasons. One, she did not love Steven Knight. She was only going to marry him because that was what her father had wanted. Two, moments before the wedding, Keirana found out that her maid of honor and her husband to be had a moment of passion the night before. And three, her heart still belonged to the Robert Clemens her high school sweetheart and Imzadi.

Keirana returned to Starfleet Academy and graduated in the top 10% of her class. Keirana has a minor degree in psychology, with her doctorate in the social sciences as a First Contact Specialist. Her courses include: Anthropology, Archaeology, Economics, Geography, Paleoanthropology, Paleontology, Ecology, Exobiology, Biology, Planetology, Toxicology, Virology, Clinical Psychology, Deep Space Counseling, Relational Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Personality Dynamics in Diplomacy, Issues in Species Diversity, Forensics Sciences, Diplomatic Relations, Planetary Government, Treaties, Federation Law, Intergalactic Affairs, Intergalactic Law, Planetary Affairs, First Contact, plus other courses that were required and not required. She's also attended advanced legal training and three specialty schools that include the School of Diplomacy, Exocultural Relations School and Officer Candidate School.

Her first assignment from the Academy took her to the USS Ticonderoga under the command of Captain Carl Stark. Keirana served as the Ticonderoga's science officer and contact specialist. After a few short months on the Ticonderoga, Keirana was to be transferred to another Federation starship. While awaiting for her transfer documents, Keirana took shore leave in San Francisco. While shopping and looking at the holiday splendor, Keirana once again met up with Robert Clemens. She was happy and excited to see him again. With their encounter at an antique shop, Keirana learned that he had a 6 year old son who has the splitting image of his father, and that he was Lieutenant Junior Grade aboard the USS Odyssey, and that he was awaiting news about a starship he had designed. After having lunch with Robb, she was pleased to know his love never died for her. They are now engaged to be married, and they are currently serving together aboard the USS Odyssey under the captainship of Periwinkle "Peri" Mason.

It wasn't until late spring and shortly after the fall of Betazed, that Keirana and Robb exchanged their love and vows of commitment to each other with a wedding ceremony on Bajor. It had all gone smoothly with the exception that her father had refused to come to the couple's wedding. It had hurt Keirana and it had hurt her even more when he had totally shut her out. Now he will never know his grandchildren.

On Stardate 9806.06, there was an explosion on the bridge of the Odyssey because of a Changeling saboteur placing a bomb in one of the compartments. Thinking of the crew other than their own safety, Robb and First Lieutenant Algar tried to disfuse the device. Unfortunately, the device went off injuring both Algar and Robb. Algar survived and has healed from his injuries, as for Robb his injuries were more extensive and required more extensive surgery that involved genetic implants and bionics. Although, Robb felt he has changed, he still carries a heart of gold for his family and friends aboard the Odyssey.

Also on that day, Keirana sensed another Changeling on board the Odyssey, other than Algar. She went to investigate and found the Changeling placing another bomb on one of the torpedoes. Before the Changeling could arm the device, Keirana killed him with her phaser. She was also telepathically linked to another crew member as he under went assimilation by the Borg. She has yet to come to terms about the killing of the Changeling and the emotional link with the Collective, which has been severed after the Borg cube had been destroyed by the Odyssey. Keirana has retained some of her memories from the temporary link, although she has yet to talk about them.

It wasn't long after, that Keirana had started to have problems carrying her children. She had started to go into premature labor with only three and half months to go. Causing concern, she tried to do what was in the best interest to her health and the health of her babies. It was on Stardate 9808.08, during a Romulan attack, that Keirana gave birth prematurely. She was in for a shock when she had found that she had given birth to triplets, instead of expected twins. In which case, they are all doing fine. Her and Robb could not have been more pleased or happier.

It wasn't until Keirana Clemens was forced on administrative leave by Starfleet for a plan she executed to force her enemy from hiding, Shishou Youkai. Shishou, a fallen prince, from the island of Makai blamed her for his loosing a war. In disquise, Shishou hired an assassin to kill her by lethal injection. His first attempt failed. Keiri figuring out who Shishou was in his disquise devised a rock climbing expedition in Colorado. Though the tatic worked, it injured her, and placed several of the cadets at risk. Thus, administrative leave was forced on Keiri. Keiri then left for Betazed to take care of personal issues. However, her arrival on Betazed was nothing but a surprised tradegy. She'd hoped to find answers to childhood long since lost and destroyed by her father. On her arrival she found that her father had a stroke leaving him in a coma where he eventually died. It also revealed a brother she never knew she had, Jon P. Hunter. A family secret never divulged until the last minute. Together, Keiri and her brother Jon managed to find some closure with their dominating father. They are trying to get to know each other in the midst of the Makaian Crisis that left room for a third attempt on Keiri's life when she returned to Earth. Keiri is on medical leave of absence until she can heal from her injures sustained in the attempt of her life.

Stardate 200402.28 ~ Keirana is emergency beamed to Starfleet medical with multiple lacerations, bites, torn shoulder and injected poison. The trauma, namely from the poison, has left her in a toxic coma. Also from the result of the injected poison, medical staff had to remove her spleen, two ovaries and uterus. Only thing to be corrected at this time is the construction of her left shoulder that was ripped through by a horn of her assissin. Until it her shoulder can be fixed, Keirana must heal from the other trauma her body had gone through.

Stardate 200403.03 ~ Keirana awakens from her toxic coma and the rest of her injuries are attended to. However, the excursion has placed her on medical leave and is expected to return to duty in two and half months and is under a doctor's care until released.

Personality: Keirana Hunter can be quiet spoken and shy at times, but once you get to know her she is quite outgoing and can be stubborn when need be.

Hobbies: You can find her in the holosuites, writing a short story or two, reading, and sometimes she can carry a note or two on the Vulcan Lyrette. Medical History: Stardate 9802.07 ~ Had her physical and was deemed fit for duty by Dr. Maren Stardate 9804.18 ~ Found out she was pregnant. Stardate 9806.26 ~ Was psychologically fit for duty by Dr. Cha'Larek Stardate 9807.14 ~ Saw the ships counselor concerning her thoughts and emotions on Robb after a bomb went off on the bridge. Stardate 9807.18 ~ Had a check up with Dr. Maren to make sure all was well with her and her children because of telepathic stress of being unable to block out thoughts and emotions. Stardate 9807.31 ~ Feels a sharp pain in her abdomen and began to going to premature labor, and given medical treatment to prolong the term of pregnancy. Stardate 9909.01 ~ Was purposely exposed to a deadly virus by Dr. Kadivo which wasn't discovered until Stardate 9910.28. The effects of the virus left her psi-blind, and did extensive damage to her left arm and her shoulder from the genetic mutation of the virus. She had to wear a sling and attend physical therapy to heal the damage to her muscles. Her telepathic abilities will return in time. Until then she is under medical advisement. Stardate 2004.29 ~ Regains full telepathic abilities, but is under the guidance of a counselor to deal with the return of emotional thoughts of others. Stardate 2008.03 ~ Suffers a stab wound while trying to retrieve her children from the Queen Mother Stardate 200308.11 ~ Keirana reinjures her left shoulder and suffers from minor bumps and bruises along with smoke inhalation from a failed assassination attempt on her life. She'll have to under go physical therapy for her shoulder and is under doctor's advisement for the injury. Stardate 200402.28 ~ Keirana is emergency beamed to Starfleet medical with multiple lacerations, bites, torn shoulder and injected poison. The trauma, namely from the poison, has left her in a toxic coma. Also from the result of the injected poison, medical staff had to remove her spleen, two ovaries and uterus. Only thing to be corrected at this time is the construction of her left shoulder that was ripped through by a horn of her assissin. Until it her shoulder can be fixed, Keirana must heal from the other trauma her body had gone through. Stardate 200403.03 ~ Keirana awakens from her toxic coma and the rest of her injuries are attended to. However, the excursion has placed her on medical leave and is expected to return to duty in two and half months and is under a doctor's care until released.
