Megan was born in New Ireland, Earth. An only child and raised by her grandfather, a medical physician. At first she had no interest in joining Starfleet, even after the encouragement of her Grandfather to join. Wanting to have training in the physiology of many different alien races, Megan joined the Vulcan Medical Academy where she found an interest in Forensic medicine and medical research. She decided to join Starfleet after witnessing a JAG murder trial on a deep space station while on a break from school. She had been asked to help out with the research for the prosecution and ended up totally intrigued. She realized she could combine both her new interest of law and medicine.
